We held our annual beach baptism event at Robert Moses Beach just before dusk on a beautiful Sunday evening. Those gathered joined together for a time of worship through song and then 18 men, women and children from the congregation were baptized by various pairs of pastors and deacons as a profession of their faith in Jesus. For Bible-believing Christians, baptism is a joyous, public proclamation of our faith in Christ.
As usual, the testimonies of those who were being baptized were available to those gathered at the shore. Part of a testimony of one of those being baptized was, “I am being baptized to share with my church family and others that I have accepted Christ as my Savior. It’s a way to express, to everyone in my life, the change that’s within me. I now better understand the love Christ has for us, knowing that He put our sin to death, and that He welcomes us to have a new life in Him.”
