Women’s Winter Breakfast
January 25 @ 9:00 am - 11:00 am
Thoughts from Lauren Marlow RE: the upcoming Women’s Winter Breakfast… an invitation to the women of ICC.
I found myself ready for spring as I took down some of my Christmas decor following a week of festivities and hosting and giving and celebration and family and friends. A quick glance at the calendar and the cold weather in the forecast reminds me that blossoms on the trees are a long way off.
Every year, I find myself more and more grateful for the pace of winter. Just as the frozen ground rests and readies itself for new growth, I am grateful for the early dusk and the chance to enjoy more nights in. I am also grateful for the way a cold walk invigorates me and for the chance to warm once home again. The forced stop and surrender of my plans during a snowstorm is harder to accept, but these rhythms of the season are a blessing, should we choose to see them that way.
And so, for our women’s winter breakfast, we want to offer you the comfort and joy of the season.
A chance to rest in a cozy space.
The opportunity to find joy in gathering and the Word of God.
“Is not my word like fire?” says the Lord. (Jeremiah 23:29)
Gather around that fire with us this winter. As John Piper says, “It is warm. It is sparkling with colors of grace. It is healing for a thousand hurts. It is light for dark nights.”
So invite a friend, bring your slippers and get ready to experience the comfort and joy of the Word of God with your sisters at the Women’s Winter Breakfast.
