Psalm 33 :16-19– No king is saved by the size of his army; no warrior escapes by his great strength. a horse is a vain hope for deliverance; despite all its great strength, it cannot save. But the eyes of the Lord are on those who fear Him on those whose hope is in his unfailing love, to deliver them from death and keep them alive in famine.
It seems that no matter what the crisis or problem that arises, God has a way out for us. I used to think that in order to succeed in dealing with whatever it was that came along to trouble and shake me up that the answer was to try a little harder, increase the determination factor, etc. Then slowly and over the years I began to realize that our Lord created us to need Him to be our strength. We can try to do it on our own but how much better to lean on Him.
This worldwide crisis is no exception. We do what we can do but ultimately our victory does not come from us. It will come from the Lord as we let Him be our strength and our comforter.
He goes before us into the battle that is raging. May we each day remember to bow before the rock of ages and thank Him that He is real, He loves us, He cares and He will see us through these troubling times.
Blessings to all on this day that the Lord has made.
Let’s remember to pray for all of our healthcare workers and emergency services at this time.
