EAST NORTHPORT, N.Y. Nov. 13, 2015. The holidays can be an extremely tough time for those who have lost a loved one. To help make it easier, Island Christian Church is hosting a two-hour event, Surviving the Holidays. The event will be offered at the Suffolk county Christian church’s Northport Campus on November 30th at 7PM, and at its Holbrook Campus on December 1st at 7:30 PM.
The seminar is targeted to those who are dreading the holidays, knowing that everything has changed and believing that happy memories from past years can’t be recreated. The Surviving the Holidays seminar is especially for people who are grieving a loved one’s death. Attendees will learn:
- How to deal with the many emotions faced during the holidays
- What to do about traditions and other coming changes
- Helpful tips for surviving social events
- How to discover hope for the future
The group will meet in a safe, informal, and confidential setting with a video and discussion. Please go to https://islandchristian.com/ministries/support-recovery/divorce-care/ for details and the location nearest you.
