For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them. Ephesians 2:10
The Scripture that you see today is the same one that I used 68 days ago–Monday, March 16, the day that the COVID-19 pandemic became very real to most of us–schools closing, financial markets crashing, events canceling.
Since that time God has been bringing this truth to my mind often. That regardless of how my plans have been thwarted, my schedule disrupted, my preferences canceled, God has prepared works for me today, May 23, 2020–and my God-given assignment is to walk in those works. It is liberating!
I am not sure what your Memorial Day Weekend usually looks like, but chances are this one is different than what you expected it to be.
We can be frustrated that our plans are thwarted, or look for and choose to walk in the works God has prepared for this day. Whatever the specific works are, they will include:
And this is his commandment, that we believe in the name of his Son Jesus Christ and love one another, just as he has commanded us. 1 John 3:23
Believe God. Love one another. Sounds like a good plan to me.
God’s grace and peace be multiplied to each one of you,
