Each year at VBS, we raise money for children somewhere else in the world so that they can know the love of Jesus. The children who attend VBS often do extra chores or have a lemonade stand during VBS week to be able to donate more significant amounts of money in order to reach our fundraising goals.
One of our youngest participants got an early start in raising money for our VBS Missions Project. Seven-year-old Aidan raised $500 in a day. How? He asked his friends to bring a donation to the VBS Missions Project in lieu of a birthday gift. This sweet and selfless act not only raised funds toward meeting his fundraising goal and heightened awareness to the continuing need in Nepal, but it also brought this little first-grader a first-hand knowledge of Acts 20:35: “It is more blessed to give than to receive.”
