Five Reasons Why Every Woman Should Join a Bible Study Group
I know, as a busy wife and mother, co-worker and friend, that you could probably think of a dozen excuses reasons that you are too busy to attend a Bible study every week.
Well, here are five fabulous reasons why attending a Bible study will benefit your personal walk with the Lord and give you a fuller, healthier head of hair.
Yes, remember fun?! Bible study can be a wonderful place to chat, laugh, and connect with other like-minded women.
Related to, but distinct from the above, fellowship is that deeper, heart-level connection that comes when we are honest with each other about what we are learning and struggling through as women and believers. A bonus of coming to an ICC study is that we are a multi-generational church! At my table are a few girls that are my same age and time of life, and wonderful group of older, wonderful women who are hungry to grow and change and learn. It is a blessing beyond words to share with them and learn from them and see the beautiful fruit of a life lived for the Lord and his kingdom.
Did I not mention this before? The food is awesome. So tasty, so fresh! Fruit and bagels! Cakes and tarts! Coffee and tea! Sometimes lox and schmear! Oh darling, are you drooling in anticipation or is it just me?
4. FRUIT OF PRAYER
Did you know that if you ask for prayer about something around your small group table, presumably through bites of bagel, that the ladies at your table will probably pray for you? It’s true! I feel so blessed knowing that whenever I share a need, they will pray and ask me about it the next time they see me.
Isolation is the enemy of a growing faith, and the natural camaraderie and accountability of being in a small group helps you to make the leap from where you are to where you want to be. I wish I always read my Bible and prayed just because I want to, but the reality of my life is that sometimes (but mostly always) it is a struggle. But I know that so-and-so at Bible study will be on my tail if I don’t, so I do. And God meets me there, so faithfully, every time.
Did we already get to five?!! There are so many more reasons, like the worship time that is so sweet, the wonderful nursery to bring your little ones… but you will just have to come and see for yourself!
