What’s So Special About ADVENT?
Advent season consists of the four weeks leading up to Christmas; when we remember and prepare for the celebration of the birth of the Messiah- the Lord Jesus Christ. It also begins the fulfillment of the prophesy spoken 400 years earlier by the prophet Malachi regarding the events leading up to this glorious birth.
It was a period of 400 years between the close of the Old Testament, with Malachi’s prophesy, and the opening of the New. As the book of Malachi comes to a close, the nation has been disobedient before God- practicing idolatry and worshiping the idols and gods of the heathen- not keeping the law of God (Mal 2:8-9).
But a time will come when reconciliation will occur- when the Lord will ‘turn the hearts of the fathers to their children’ (Mal 4:5-6).
It is in this setting that God choses to break his silence. Suddenly God starts to speak and reveal His Word and miracles begin to happen again. This is all building to the greatest miracle- the virgin birth- indicating God has intervened once again in the process of making known His ultimate plan of redemption through His Son, Jesus.

Zechariah & Elizabeth
The silence is broken with the announcement, to a humble priest, by an angel of the Lord. The angel declares that the priest and his barren wife will be parents! Not only that, the angels tells him that their child, John (the Baptist), is the one chosen to proclaim the arrival of the Messiah!
Nothing would ever be the same.
Join us this season. Come and see for yourself as we relive those events and others with dramatic vignettes and inspirational preaching.
This is what is so special about Advent.
