YOUR Fresh Start
The beauty of making a fresh start is that it doesn’t have to be complicated. In fact, fresh starts usually mean un-complicating things in your life!
This means letting go of past mistakes and regrets. A great statement from Scripture is found in Isaiah:
“Remember not the former things,
nor consider the things of old.
19 Behold, I am doing a new thing;
now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? (Is 43:18-19).
The Lord is saying essentially, that the “new thing” He is doing will far overshadow the old— even those “life defining moments,” whether good or bad. In fact, in the context of these verses, the “former things” mentioned alluded to God bringing Israel out from bondage in Egypt. Yet as significant as that was for the nation, he will do even greater things for those who praise Him and trust him: “I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.”
So what does a “fresh start” look like for you? What do you need to forget so you can begin to trust God with the “new thing” He wants to do in your life?
