Island Kids 2s & 3s and 4s & 5s:

This Sunday we’re in John 21: 1-14 where Peter and some of the disciples go fishing, but they don’t catch anything. A man on the shore tells them to cast their nets again but on the other side of the boat, and then they catch tons of fish! The disciples realize the man on the shore is Jesus, and Peter jumps into the water and swims to the shore. Jesus cooks breakfast and eats with His friends on the beach. We’ll teach the little ones that Jesus loves spending time with us and wants to be our friend forever.

Our April memory verse is: “I have called you friends.” John 15:15 (NIV)

Island Kids 1st – 5th Grade:

This week’s Bible lesson comes from Luke 24:13–35, where two of Jesus’ followers are traveling on the road to Emmaus on Sunday afternoon. As they try to make sense of everything that has happened, Jesus Himself joins them along the way. Although they don’t recognize Him at first, Jesus explains how God’s whole story fits together. Later, when He breaks bread with them at dinner, they finally realize who He is! The kids will learn that they can have joy because there’s a bigger story.

Our April memory verse is: “Always be joyful because you belong to the Lord. I will say it again. Be joyful!” Philippians 4:4 (NIrV)

This year, our Easter offering will be for the Benevolence Fund here at Island Christian. This special fund is used specifically to help people in need, both in our church family and our community. In the past year, we've been able to help more people than ever before, so it's time to fill up the fund again! The Benevolence Fund provides assistance in various ways, including gas cards, helping with medical bills, rent and housing assistance, counseling assistance, grocery assistance, and many other needs. If you would like to give to this fund electronically, you can use any of our online options and select “Easter 2026.” You can also contribute by mail or dropbox and put on the envelope or check memo “Easter 2026.”

We are currently renovating a space in our gym to create a new Game Room. This is going to be a great space for our youth to connect and have fun, too! It's time to fill it with games! If you would like to purchase a board game or a video game for the Game Room, please visit our Amazon registry.

Baptism is a joyous, public proclamation of our faith in Christ. It is an outward act that testifies to what happened in our hearts when we repented of our sin and trusted Christ for our salvation. The picture of baptism is the dying to our old life and the beginning of our new resurrected life with Christ. In the New Testament, those coming to faith in Christ were baptized right away.
A mandatory baptism class will take place the morning of baptisms.

Alpha is a great conversational small group class where you can bring your questions about the Christian faith and learn how to grow in a relationship with God. It is a safe place to ask questions about the meaning of life and about God. Whether you or a friend or family member is seeking a safe space to have a conversation about faith, or you are ready to take the next step of growing in your faith, Alpha is for you!

Our Alpha conversations are held on Tuesday evenings. We meet over 11 weeks for a brief teaching, followed by discussion. All sessions start with a meal, providing a time to connect and build friendships. There is no charge to attend!
