Island Kids 2s & 3s and 4s & 5s:

This Sunday, we’re in Matthew 28:16–20 – The Great Commission. Jesus meets the disciples on a mountain, and He gives them a big job to do—go everywhere and tell people about Him, and teach them what He said. Jesus promises to always be with them. Jesus wants us to tell people about God’s love, too—and we never do it alone! Our little ones will learn that Jesus wants to be their friend forever—how amazing is that?!

Our April memory verse is: “I have called you friends.” John 15:15 (NIV)

Island Kids 1st – 5th Grade:

This week’s Bible lesson comes from Matthew 28:16-20; Acts 1:1-11 – The Great Commission and Ascension. After appearing multiple times to His friends, Jesus meets them on a mountain to give them the greatest assignment in history: “Go and make disciples of all nations.” Jesus promises to be with them always, but then, soon after, ascends to Heaven. He leaves them with the remarkable assurance that they will soon receive power from the Holy Spirit. The kids will learn that we can share the good news about Jesus—and be part of this amazing mission too!

Our April memory verse is: “Always be joyful because you belong to the Lord. I will say it again. Be joyful!” Philippians 4:4 (NIrV)

An Exciting Next Step for Our 5th Graders!

On Sunday, May 3, we’re excited to launch our 8-week Alpha Youth program at the 10:00 and 11:30 AM services! Alpha Youth is a fun, engaging experience for kids transitioning out of Sunday School as they prepare to join the main service in the Sanctuary on Move-Up Sunday, June 28.

Most importantly, Alpha Youth is about helping students grow in their faith. It creates a safe, welcoming environment where kids can ask big questions, talk about real life, and discover what it means to follow Jesus. Through interactive conversations, videos, and plenty of laughter, big Christian ideas become easy to understand and exciting to explore. Alpha Youth also serves as an important next step for our 5th graders as they prepare to move into the main service. We can’t wait to walk alongside your child during this important season of growth!

Please join us for our Annual Members Meeting. We will meet as a church family to celebrate God’s faithfulness over the past year and look forward to what is to come!

We will worship and pray together, present our annual budget, and welcome our re-elected Deacons and new members. Exciting stuff!

In addition, there is a Q&A opportunity on Sunday, April 19th, if you have any questions about the budget. Feel free to stop by the Zoom Room (upstairs, right outside the elevator) for about 15-20 minutes after each service to see the Finance Committee.

Child Dedication at Island Christian is a commitment parents make to God before the congregation to live out their faith in Jesus before their children, teach their children the Word of God, and seek to lead them into a personal relationship with God through Jesus.
