Island Kids 2s & 3s and 4s & 5s:

This Sunday we’re in Genesis 1:26-27 and Exodus 34:6-7. God did something very special when He made people – He made us to be like Him! Our little ones will learn that they are created to show what God is like. God is kind, so He wants us to be kind. God is loving, so He wants us to be loving. And when we are kind and loving, other people can see what God is like. 

Our August memory verse is: “How you made me is amazing and wonderful.” Psalm 139:14 (NIrV)

Island Kids 1st – 5th Grade:

Our Bible lesson this Sunday comes from Romans 8:28-29. Through this Scripture, kids will explore how God can work for good in every circumstance. Their background, family, where they live, and the things they experience—all of these pieces of their identity can be used by God to grow them to be more and more like Jesus, and to spread His love to others. They’ll learn that in all things, God works for good! God can use every part of our story for His purposes.

WOWEE!

Each year at VBS, we build in a global emphasis, so our kids get to see how far the impact of the Gospel actually reaches. This year's offering was received to help build an orphanage in Nepal, in partnership with Messiah's Outreach. Our goal was to raise $10,000. As of today, you all have given $14,484!

Thank you so much for your generous partnership, which is creating tangible impact for kids halfway around the world. Thank you for giving so joyfully, and for trusting God with more than we asked for. We are excited to see how God uses it!

This class teaches you how to read the Bible for yourself using a simple, time-tested framework popularized by Howard Hendricks: Observation, Interpretation, and Application. You'll learn how to slow down and notice what the text actually says, uncover what it truly means, and apply it to your everyday life. We'll also cover practical tools, such as choosing a Bible translation and using helpful study resources along the way. Walk away equipped to study Scripture with confidence, on your own, anytime you open it. Dinner will be provided!

Back to School Outreach

Each year, Helping Hand Rescue Mission provides backpacks and school supplies to hundreds of local children. This year, they are also including a Family Hygiene Bag for every family that attends. These bags would contain practical essentials that many families struggle to afford. While school supplies help children succeed in the classroom, these hygiene items help families maintain dignity and stability at home.

Let’s join in with what God is doing through Helping Hands this August. Together, we can help ensure that children not only begin the school year prepared academically, but that their families have some of the essential resources they need as well.
