Island Kids 2s & 3s and 4s & 5s:

In the Bible, we read story after story where Jesus shows us that He cares for every single person—no matter who they are, what they’ve done, or where they’re from. Join us in praying that the kids will grow to love Jesus more and more as they discover this month that He cares about everyone!

We start out in Mark 6:53–56, where we see just how BIG Jesus’ love is. Everywhere He goes, people bring their sick friends to Him—and Jesus heals them, even those who simply touch His clothes.

Our May memory verse is: “How wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ.” Ephesians 3:18 (NIV)

Island Kids 1st – 5th Grade:

This month holds two incredible truths for our Island Kids. First, we are right now living in God’s Big Story—the time between when Jesus returned to heaven and when He will come back to earth again. And the second amazing truth: that in the end, God will make everything right! We start off May with Peter and Paul boldly facing the Sanhedrin as we look at Acts 3—4:22. When the leaders warn them to quit preaching, Peter and John refuse to stay silent. Our kids will learn that when we remember what God has done, it helps us keep going too.

Our May memory verse is: “Let us not become tired of doing good. At the right time we will gather a crop if we don’t give up.” Galatians 6:9 (NIrV)

An Exciting Next Step for Our 5th Graders!

This Sunday, May 3, we’re launching our 8-week Alpha Youth program at the 10:00 and 11:30 AM services! Alpha Youth is a fun, engaging experience for kids transitioning out of Sunday School as they prepare to join the main service in the Sanctuary on Move-Up Sunday, June 28.

Most importantly, Alpha Youth is about helping students grow in their faith. It creates a safe, welcoming environment where kids can ask big questions, talk about real life, and discover what following Jesus is all about.

Through interactive conversations, videos, and plenty of laughter, big Christian ideas become easy to understand and exciting to explore. Alpha Youth also serves as an important next step for our 5th graders as they prepare to move into the main service. We can’t wait to walk alongside your child during this important season of growth!

The National Day of Prayer has great significance for us as a nation, as it enables us to recall and to teach the way in which our founding fathers sought the wisdom of God when faced with critical decisions. It stands as a call for us to humbly come before God, seeking His guidance for our leaders and His grace upon us as a people.

With all that is going on in this world- from war, to the persecution of Christians, human trafficking, and violence toward the unborn- there is an urgent need for us to gather for prayer and repentance (and fasting if you are so led). Please join in any of the three scheduled times of prayer at the church or gather with your family at home or with your life group. Church prayer times are 7 AM, noon, and 7 PM. The prayer room will be open from 9 AM-5 PM that day as well. May the Lord strengthen us in the ministry of prayer!

Soundview Pregnancy Services was birthed in our church 37 years ago and has expanded to become the only crisis pregnancy organization on Long Island that provides access to medical professional services along with resources, compassionate gospel-centered care, and counseling.
