Island Kids 2s & 3s and 4s & 5s:
This week, we’ll look at the story of Gideon in Judges 6-7. Gideon hides because he is afraid of the Midianite army. But the angel tells Gideon that God will be with him. Gideon trusts God, and he leads an army to defeat the Midianites. The kids will learn that God can help us be brave—even when we are afraid. Our October memory verse is: “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid … for the Lord your God goes with you.” Deuteronomy 31:6 (NIV)
Island Kids 1st – 5th Grade:
This month is all about WISDOM – Finding out God’s best and doing it. This Sunday, we're teaching the kids that we can ask God for wisdom. We’ll look at the life of Solomon who became king at a young age. Solomon knew he couldn’t lead the people well on his own, so instead of fame or riches, he asked God for wisdom. We’ll dive into some of his wise sayings as recorded in Proverbs 15:1; 3:5-6; and 17:17. Our October memory verse is: “It is much better to get wisdom than gold. It is much better to choose understanding than silver.” Proverbs 16:16 (NIrV)

Island Youth Students in 6th - 12th grades are invited to join us for a fun night of bowling! Drop off and pick up at Commack Bowlero, 2183 Jericho Turnpike, at 7:15 - 10:00 PM. The cost is $50, which includes 2 1/2 hours of unlimited bowling, complimentary shoe rental, unlimited soft drinks set up in pitchers behind your lane, hot food, plus a $10 arcade game card per guest.

Q&A:
Which entrance should I use now? The South lobby entrance under the Portico or the Elwood lobby entrance. There will be signs and maps posted to direct people.
Where is Island Kids check-in? Check-in will remain at the West Entrance, even though nobody is actually entering there right now. That's where we are set up with technology, furniture, and the slide!
Can I still park on the west side? Yes, the parking spaces are still accessible.
Will there be additional handicap parking spots? Yes, there will be signs marking additional handicap spots for the duration of this closure.
