ISLAND KIDS

ISLAND KIDS
Sundays | 8:30, 10:00 + 11:30 AM

Island Kids 2s & 3s and 4s & 5s:

This Sunday, our little ones will get to explore Luke 13:10–17, where Jesus heals a woman on the Sabbath who had been sick for 18 years. In the story, a religious leader becomes upset that Jesus healed her on the Sabbath, but Jesus reminds him that even animals are cared for on the Sabbath—so how much more should a hurting person be helped! Everyone else celebrates the amazing things Jesus is doing, as we learn that Jesus cares for everyone, every single day.

Our May memory verse is: “How wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ.” Ephesians 3:18 (NIV).

Island Kids 1st – 5th Grade:

In our Acts 8:26–40 lesson this Sunday, the kids will see how, even though persecuted believers were scattered, God continued to work powerfully. Philip begins a thriving ministry in Samaria, but then an angel of the Lord sends him to a wilderness road. There, Philip meets an Ethiopian official who is struggling to understand Scripture as he travels home. He has big questions—but God has already perfectly placed Philip there to help him find answers. We’re teaching the kids to keep following God, even when you have questions.

Our May memory verse is: “Let us not become tired of doing good. At the right time we will gather a crop if we don’t give up.” Galatians 6:9 (NIrV)

An Exciting Next Step for Our 5th Graders!

Last week was an incredible start to our Alpha Youth program! The kids were eager and asked so many thoughtful, honest questions. It was amazing to see their curiosity and willingness to engage in meaningful conversations about faith and real-life issues.

This Sunday marks week two of our Alpha Youth program during the 10:00 and 11:30 AM services! Alpha Youth is a fun, welcoming space where students can explore big ideas and grow in their understanding of what it means to follow Jesus as they prepare to join the main service in the Sanctuary on Move-Up Sunday, June 28. If your child missed last week, that’s okay—they can still jump right in!

We’re excited to keep the momentum going this week and look forward to all God has planned!

pray for our nation

May 7

The National Day of Prayer has great significance for us as a nation, as it enables us to recall and to teach the way in which our founding fathers sought the wisdom of God when faced with critical decisions. It stands as a call for us to humbly come before God, seeking His guidance for our leaders and His grace upon us as a people.

With all that is going on in this world- from war, to the persecution of Christians, human trafficking, and violence toward the unborn- there is an urgent need for us to gather for prayer and repentance (and fasting if you are so led). Please join in any of the three scheduled times of prayer at the church or gather with your family at home or with your life group. Church prayer times are 7 AM, noon, and 7 PM. The prayer room will be open from 9 AM-5 PM that day as well. May the Lord strengthen us in the ministry of prayer!

"As for me, far be it from me that I should sin against the LORD by failing to pray for you..." 1 Samuel 12:23

NEW MEMBERS CLASS

May 9 @ 9:00 AM

Do you consider this your home church? Do you want to find out what it means to be a member of Island Christian? Join us on Saturday, May 9 at 9:00 AM for a morning of interactive discussion about joining our church.

Many times in the New Testament, the church is referred to as a body with each part being a member (Rom. 12:4, Eph. 3:6 and 4:25, Col. 3:15). Church membership affirms your commitment to a local church as part of the body of Christ. As Christians, we are called to live in community, and becoming a member is a great next step!

We want to send your graduates into the next chapter of their faith journey lives with prayer, blessing and celebration.
